Program Overview

McKesson's internship program is designed to provide a real-life working environment, a solid foundation of experience, and a cohort experience with other interns.

We are looking for candidates who have a willingness to learn, develop, and contribute in a fast-paced environment, self-starters with interpersonal skills, and passion for healthcare and customer success.

Work Term:

Duration: 4 months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Specialty Pharmacy Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and supporting patient care activities, ensuring smooth coordination of prescriptions and medical supplies, and participating in various projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage compliance calls to ensure patients adhere to their medication schedules.
  • Counsel patients on their prescriptions in accordance with the scope of practice for interns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate coordination of prescriptions and medical supplies for delivery to patients' homes, medical clinics, or infusion clinics as required.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of payor models and pricing of pharmacy services within the applicable province of practice.
  • Take on and contribute to various projects and initiatives related to pharmacy services, pharmaceutical manufacturer clients, and digital transformation within the business unit.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmaD), or relevant program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with payor models and pricing strategies is an asset.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and a keen interest in digital transformation initiatives.
