We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Bonnyville Centralized High School. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic and personal success of our students.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will assist students with their educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs. This is a full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with their educational program needs in a one-on-one and classroom setting
  • Support students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized plans for students
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
