Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Bonnyville Centralized High School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, promoting their academic and personal growth, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs in a one-on-one and classroom setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and support provided.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant.
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies and documentation procedures.
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of alternate communication strategies and individual program plans.
  • Training and skills in SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are an asset.
