About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Value Village. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our store, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor, cash register bays, break rooms, bathrooms, trash areas, and store front.
  • Empty trash, clean high-touch areas, windows, and mirrors, and refill paper products, soaps, and cleaners.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment and appliances, and safely dispose of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
  • Follow loss prevention procedures, including reporting internal or external theft to a manager.
  • Ensure a safe environment for team members, shoppers, and donors by following safety standards and wearing personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Customer service skills requiring courtesy and good communication skills.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Knowledge of use and safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.

  • Flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs and sales events.
  • May require overtime from time to time due to store needs.
