About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Value Village. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our store, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor, cash register bays, break rooms, bathrooms, trash areas, and store front.
  • Empty trash, clean high-touch areas, windows, and mirrors, and refill paper products, soaps, and cleaners.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment and appliances safely and efficiently.
  • Follow loss prevention procedures and report any internal or external theft to a manager.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety standards and reporting any hazards or injuries to a manager.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Knowledge of use and safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.

  • Exposure to temperature fluctuations periodically.
  • Flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs and sales events.
  • May require overtime from time to time due to store needs.
