Music Education Professor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Education Professor to join our faculty at the University of Saskatchewan. As a tenure-track position, this role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Elementary Music Education and related subjects. They will also have the opportunity to teach in additional areas commensurate with their qualifications and expertise, such as leading music ensembles, applied teaching, Indigenous music, ethnomusicology, and global/world music.

The position includes opportunities for graduate supervision and the development of new undergraduate and/or graduate level courses. The successful candidate will actively participate in ongoing research, scholarly, and artistic work, provide leadership in Elementary Music Education, participate actively in recruitment, and undertake administrative activities and responsibilities corresponding to rank.

Qualifications: Candidates will be considered who hold a Doctorate (DMA or in Music Education or a related music field. ABD will be considered with expected completion prior to employment start date. School-based teaching experience is required. Post-secondary teaching experience will be considered an asset.

The salary band for the academic year is: Assistant Professor $99,945-$120,099.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes a dental, health, and extended vision care plan; pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long-term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance, and a flexible health and wellness spending program.
