Assistant Professor in Music Education

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor in Music Education to join our faculty at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Elementary Music Education and related subjects, as well as potentially teach in additional areas commensurate with their qualifications and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Elementary Music Education and related subjects
  • Potentially teach in additional areas commensurate with their qualifications and expertise
  • Contribute to the development of new undergraduate and/or graduate level courses
  • Participate in ongoing research, scholarly, and artistic work (RSAW)
  • Provide leadership in Elementary Music Education
  • Participate actively in recruitment and undertake administrative activities and responsibilities corresponding to rank
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate (DMA or in Music Education or a related music field)
  • ABD will be considered with expected completion prior to employment start date
  • School-based teaching experience is required
  • Post-secondary teaching experience will be considered an asset
