Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in St. Thomas, Ontario. This role will be responsible for leading the end-to-end payroll process, including onboarding new hires, processing final pay calculations, and maintaining administrative duties for benefit administration.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to play a key part in helping us achieve our ambitious goals in 2024. As a Lead Senior Payroll Specialist, you will oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Leads the end-to-end process of bi-weekly & monthly payroll, including onboarding new hires into Dayforce and processing final pay calculations for terminations.
  • Maintains administrative duties for benefit administration, including updating contractor hours and uploading to Dayforce, processing cost center changes, calculating retroactive payments, and manually producing Records of Employment.
  • Supports PowerCo Canada on the strategic direction of payroll services for the NAR project.
  • Responsible for monitoring and implementing continuous improvement processes projects.
  • Serves as a key liaison for GL postings, responding to accounting inquiries as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced payroll environment, ideally within both unionized and non-unionized payrolls.
  • Post–Secondary Education in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Success Factors would be an asset.
  • Serve as a systems expert, addressing advanced system password resets, troubleshooting payroll software issues, and providing guidance to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Robust knowledge of MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel and reporting skills.
