Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Family Physician to fill a locum position at Windsor Medical Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care to patients in a private practice setting.
Responsibilities:
- Examine patients and take their medical histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult with other medical practitioners as needed
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents to public health authorities
Requirements:
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Working Conditions:
The locum position will operate Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with no evening, weekend, or on-call hours. The clinic has a full staff, including administrators and an LPN, to support the locum physician.
