- Nutritional Intake: Monitor patients' nutritional intake, including meal planning and assistance with feeding, to promote optimal health.
- Medication Observations: Record observations of medication's therapeutic and side effects, including patient responses and any adverse reactions.
- Vital Signs: Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, to monitor patients' health status.
- Operating Room Cleaning: Clean and sterilize the operating room and instruments to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
- Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Care: Provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Respiratory and IV Therapy: Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, ensuring patients receive the necessary treatment.
- Safety and Health Education: Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, promoting healthy habits and disease prevention.
- Nursing Services: Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor patients' progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
- Eligibility for Licensure: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work.
- Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination: Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
- CPR and First Aid Certificates: Possession of current CPR and First Aid certificates.
- Geriatrics Experience: Experience working in a geriatrics setting, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care facility.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Pro Vita Care Management, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a large caseload. You will be required to work under pressure, with attention to detail, and in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
