Agricultural Sales Specialist, Canadian Business Banking
This role contributes to the overall success of the Agricultural segment of the Business Banking department(s) in Canada. The Agricultural Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering profitable sales of credit and non-credit products to agriculture customers and prospects in the Business Banking division, including self-development of an extensive network of referral sources through effective strategy of community involvement, within an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with retail banking, commercial banking, agriculture account managers, and wealth partners to provide a coordinated market approach to agriculture services in the assigned territory.
- Grow the Business Banking agriculture portfolio through new rural business acquisition and customer relationships.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of agriculture customers and prospects within the assigned territory, with a focus on delivering excellent, responsive, and proactive service.
- Provide specialized agriculture expertise and business finance advice to increase the small business owner's ability to succeed in their business.
- Promote Scotiabank's image within the agricultural community through participation and leadership in community events and market activities.
Requirements
- Experience in the field of Canadian agriculture, either through education or work.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or economics, or equivalent work experience.
- A strong knowledge of business financial statements, especially within the agriculture segment.
- A working knowledge of competitor offerings and alternate sources of financing.
- A working knowledge of economic conditions and political events affecting small business, especially within the agriculture segment.
- Proven success in sales, marketing, and business development.
- Able to build and maintain key relationships, influence, and persuade others.
- Able to become a trusted advisor to clients.
