About the Position
ELYSIS is currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in the Saguenay Lac St-Jean region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class partnership between two major aluminium industry pioneers, Alcoa and Rio Tinto.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the organization's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles by adopting a positive attitude that is zero by choice.
- Ensure the proper functioning of the plant's various equipment in a preventive maintenance process and in a teamwork environment.
- Actively participate in problem-solving as well as technology improvement strategies with the process team and other stakeholders.
- Support the operations, startup and commissioning activities while ensuring equipment reliability and implementing necessary improvements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of a DEC in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or any other combination of relevant studies or experience. You will also have a minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, commissioning/startup, and plant start-up experience would be an asset.
About Us
ELYSIS is a Canadian company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, with facilities in Alma and Jonquière, Quebec. At the Alma site, efforts to eliminate all direct greenhouse gas emissions from the aluminum electrolysis process made significant progress in June 2021, with the construction of the first industrial-scale prototype cells using inert anode technology. At the Jonquière site, the team works on perfecting the technology at the ELYSIS Research and Development Centre, located within Rio Tinto's Jonquière Complex.
