Job Title: Senior Stress Engineer / Analyst

BWXT Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Engineer / Analyst to join our Engineering Analysis & Qualification team in Cambridge, Ontario.

About the Role:

As a Senior Stress Engineer / Analyst, you will be responsible for performing structural qualification of steam generators, heat exchangers, process vessels, and piping assemblies for new equipment supply or in support of field services. You will also perform numerical analysis and design qualification of nuclear components using finite element analysis or classical closed-form solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural analysis, transient thermal analysis, heat-transfer analysis, and response spectrum and time-history seismic analysis.
  • Provide input and support to Project Engineering, including design qualification of nuclear components.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic group of highly skilled engineers to ensure ASME Code and customer requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or civil engineering or associated fields with strong background in solid mechanics and/or fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Experience with finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant functions and ASME BPV Code would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of CSA S16 or equivalent structural codes would be an asset.
