Job Title: Senior Stress Analyst

BWXT Canada is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and services. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Analyst to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The Senior Stress Analyst will be responsible for performing structural qualification of steam generators, heat exchangers, process vessels, and piping assemblies for new equipment supply or in support of field services. This includes numerical analysis and design qualification of nuclear components using finite element analysis or classical closed-form solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural analysis, transient thermal analysis, heat-transfer analysis, and response spectrum and time-history seismic analysis.
  • Provide input and support to Project Engineering, including design qualification and structural analysis.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of highly skilled engineers to ensure ASME Code and customer requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or civil engineering or associated fields with strong background in solid mechanics and/or fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Experience with finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant functions and ASME BPV Code would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of CSA S16 or equivalent structural codes would be an asset.
