About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Caregiver Assistant to join our team at Shannex. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobilizing, according to their individual care plans.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement resident care plans.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice.
  • Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Valid Continuing Care Certification or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent.
  • Registered in Nova Scotia's CCA registry as per the Continuing Care Assistants Registry Act.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening.
  • Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course considered an asset.
  • Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
