Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wellness Consultant to join our team at Seven Oaks General Hospital. As a key member of our fitness programs services, you will play a vital role in supporting members to make positive lifestyle changes and achieve their health and wellness goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess members' needs and develop personalized lifestyle plans to promote healthy habits and wellness.
  • Use motivational interviewing techniques to encourage members to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
  • Monitor and supervise member usage of fitness equipment and provide guidance on safe exercise practices.
  • Develop and maintain a fun and engaging environment through group fitness classes and social activities.
  • Conduct daily safety checks and assist with facility maintenance and cleaning as needed.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in health and lifestyle assessments, motivational interviewing, and training individuals with varying needs and fitness levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, Exercise Science, or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in a related field is an asset.
  • Training in exercise stress testing, exercise prescription, and health behavior change is required.
  • Certified Fitness Consultant and Personal Trainer (CFT) certification is mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a focus on customer service.
  • Must be able to withstand considerable amounts of standing, walking, and bending associated with exercise instruction and fitness assessments.
  • Shift work required, with flexibility to work varied hours and schedules.
