Covanta is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform emergency repairs and respond to equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment performance data.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a mechanical role with knowledge in hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, general carpentry, and motors.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, as well as the proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, in confined spaces, and with the aid of a respirator when necessary.
