We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at our Kitchener, ON branch.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction equipment, including earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment on customer jobsites.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs on customer jobsites.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance on customer jobsites.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with customers.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance in shop, when available.
  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience, working on a variety of construction equipment, in a field service role.
  • Valid Class G driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
  • Must have a complete set of tools.
  • 310T or 421A license would be a definite asset.
  • Must be available to work overtime as required, and to work on an on-call basis.
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
