About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. As a locum physician, you will have the opportunity to work in a community-based setting, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a supportive group of family doctors.

Funding for this opportunity is provided through the rural locum program, offering a guaranteed daily rate and remuneration for travel. Our regional hospital is conveniently located across the street, and we have access to lab, radiology, and specialist colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, take their histories, order diagnostic tests, and provide health advice
  • Consult and refer patients to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide support
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, and contagious diseases as required
Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association
