Bridgewater, a picturesque community on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, is seeking a family medicine physician for a long-term locum opportunity. This is an excellent chance to experience community-based family medicine in a beautiful setting. Our group of family doctors is committed to sharing the advantages of working in Bridgewater, and we are eager to welcome a new physician to our team.
Funding for this opportunity is provided through the rural locum program, ensuring a guaranteed daily rate and remuneration for travel. The minimum guaranteed daily rate is $, with a $ daily rate. As a locum physician, you will cover for another physician for a maximum of 30 days per year. We are committed to making you feel welcome and can assist in finding accommodations if needed.
Responsibilities- Examine patients, take their histories, order diagnostic tests, and laboratory procedures; advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners.
- Act as a patient's advocate.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements.
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
