Bridgewater Bank, a Canadian Schedule 1 chartered bank with Western Canadian roots, is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join its Finance department. This role is responsible for the overall management of financial and regulatory reporting, accounting operations, and budgeting and planning functions.

  • The ideal candidate will have a Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, along with a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in a financial analysis and/or accounting role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this position, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

Bridgewater Bank manages over $3.3 billion in residential mortgages and deposits, representing over 53,000 accounts across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing financial policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity of accounting practices, and maintaining accurate fiscal records.

Fiduciary Responsibilities

  • This role is accountable for the overall management of the Finance department, including financial and regulatory reporting, accounting operations, and budgeting and planning functions.
  • The Controller will provide strategic direction on the implementation of new business initiatives and process improvements, playing a pivotal role in supporting the bank's growth and operational efficiency.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of treasury operations is required for this role, along with experience in a federally regulated financial institution.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits
