Key Responsibilities- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, providing guidance and recommendations on performance management, employee relations, labour relations, and conflict resolution matters.
- Partner with operational management teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that promote a positive work culture and compliance with employment laws.
- Lead and/or participate in People and Culture initiatives to drive employee engagement and retention, talent management, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, and performance management.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate actions to address employee relations issues and ensure a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Create relevant documentation as needed.
- Respond to grievances as needed.
- Participate in and/or lead collective bargaining negotiations.
- Analyze metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, relevant employment law, and best practices to proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Handle all relevant matters with sensitivity and confidentiality to ensure discretion and integrity.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Human Resources experience with at least 2 years in a business partner or similar role or equivalent experience.
- Labour Relations experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships throughout all levels of the Company.
- Proven ability to influence and drive change.
- Very strong judgement, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related post-secondary equivalent; related professional certification is an asset.
