About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our team at Ansys. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing commercial enterprise software solutions that enable our customers to power innovation and drive human advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in planning, architecture, and research to drive the development of cloud-based software solutions.
  • Design, implement, maintain, test, and document software modules and sub-systems, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Propose and implement novel solutions to complex problems, leveraging your expertise in cloud computing and software development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Participate in Agile process meetings and contribute to the development of software solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Employ best practices to convert customer requirements into scalable designs and maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Perform complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products, and develop solutions to problems discovered by QA or product support.
  • Research and understand marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and may take on planning and mentoring responsibilities.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience designing and developing commercial enterprise software.
  • Experience with developing web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular or React framework.
  • Experience in designing APIs and developing scalable services using object-oriented languages (Python or C# or Java).
  • Experience with large project development and deployment on AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with HPC Cluster provisioning in Cloud environments.
  • Experience with enterprise software development best-practices, Git, Linux, Continuous integration, and Continuous deployments.
  • Experience with NoSQL or RDBMS Database technologies.
  • Expert understanding of designing Microservices, Web architecture, gRPC, and Web APIs such as RESTful.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Job schedulers (Slurm) and Container orchestration systems (Kubernetes).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
