Site Reliability Solutions merges software and systems engineering to develop and maintain large-scale, highly distributed, fault-tolerant systems. This role is essential in ensuring that Google Cloud's services—both critical internal systems and customer-facing applications—maintain reliability, meet uptime requirements, and continuously improve.
Our software development efforts primarily focus on enhancing existing systems, constructing infrastructure, and streamlining processes through automation. As a member of the Site Reliability Solutions team, you will tackle the unique challenges of scale inherent to Google Cloud, leveraging your skills in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system architecture. Utilizing your technical skills, you will oversee project priorities, timelines, and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop product or system software code.
- Review code produced by peers and provide constructive feedback to uphold best practices (e.g., style guidelines, version control, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational materials and adjust content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Diagnose product or system issues and debug/track/resolve them by analyzing the sources of problems and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Engage in or lead design reviews with colleagues and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.
