Community Recreation Coordinator

As a Community Recreation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering quality leisure programs, services, and facilities to Canadian Armed Forces members and their families.
The Community Recreation Coordinator is responsible for providing diverse programming for preschoolers, adults, and seniors. You will coordinate community fitness, sports, arts, and culture initiatives, civic events, and oversee services such as libraries and membership offices.
This dynamic position offers opportunities for skill expansion and passion sharing through mentoring junior staff and volunteers. Your primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for military personnel.
We are seeking a motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, communication expertise, and leadership abilities to join our team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- College diploma or certificate in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or Community Development
- CPR and Basic First Aid certifications
- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport certification
- Experience in program planning, evaluation, policy application, budget administration, and personnel management
- Strong client focus, innovation, teamwork, and leadership competencies
Language Requirements:
English essential; bilingualism (English and French) an asset

Important Information:
You must be able to perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or pushing (more than 10 lbs but less than 50 lbs). The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
