Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our team in a leadership role. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex bridge infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of bridge infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Canadian codes and design standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning.
- Develop and implement design solutions for transportation structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations.
- Direct CAD teams for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to clients.
- Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
- Provide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering services.
- Work within assigned project budgets and schedules.
- Mentor junior staff on project work and technical development.
Requirements
- B.ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering, with strong interest and experience in structures, particularly bridges.
- P.Eng. status and minimum 6 years of proven experience in design using Canadian codes and design standards.
- Interest in working both in the office and field environments.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with CAD and SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAME.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to mentor technical development of others.
- Works well with minimal direct supervision.
- Exercises independent judgment.
