About the Job
  • This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in safety practices and procedures, specifically in the construction industry. You will be responsible for monitoring and supporting Health & Safety compliance across multiple sites, conducting site inspections, and providing guidance to HSE Coordinators and project supervisors.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that our company maintains its COR certification by ensuring compliance, identifying gaps, and outlining action plans. Additionally, you will assist in accident investigations, evaluate Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and recommend appropriate means of accident prevention.

In this position, you will also participate in the creation of project-specific standards, methods, and safety procedures, maintain safety-related files, and track projects' statistics related to proactive activities and events.

Requirements
  • Candidates must have a College or University program related to Safety practices in Construction.
  • They should have experience working on Construction/Industrial sites in Ontario, preferably with exposure to a broad range of work involving labour and equipment operation, surveying, engineering, traffic control, quality control, project support/supervision, and trades.
  • A minimum CHSO/NCSO Provincial recognition and working towards a Gold Seal Canadian Construction Association National Certification are required.
  • A serious ambition and action plan towards achieving a CRSP, CHSC, or other senior OHS designation are expected.
  • Proficiency in computer-related business tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other commonly used programs is necessary.
  • Occupational Health and Safety training related to applicable Acts and Regulations and an understanding of the requirement to explain reasons behind actions taken are essential.
