The Role

We are seeking a skilled Programmer/Analyst to join our Information Services - Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will work on high-performance applications using leading-edge technologies. Your expertise in full-stack development, Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and NoSQL will be invaluable in driving our mission to improve the wellbeing of Canadians.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain software application components, interpreting specifications and ensuring scalability and security.
  2. Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand end-user experience and generate new ideas to improve customer satisfaction.
  3. Work independently in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting to existing development standards and structure.
  4. Lead, mentor, and guide less experienced developers in best practices.
  5. Contribute to the development of secure and scalable code, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

Requirements

  1. 2+ years of relevant work experience, including web development, interpreting specifications, and developing/testing/documenting software application components.
  2. Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree (Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
  3. Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, NoSQL, Micro-service architecture, design patterns, REST API, code versioning tools (Git), Docker, Kubernetes, and Relational Database.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write for a technical audience.
  5. Ability to work with project stakeholders and others in the organization to gain a deep understanding of end-user experience and generate new ideas to improve customer satisfaction.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills, with a willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
  7. Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently produce results within timelines.
  8. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and other stakeholders in the business.
  9. A highly motivated and dynamic professional, with a love for project-based work and staying on top of your technical game.
