Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Development Lead to join our team at EDP Renewables North America LLC. As a key member of our project development team, you will be responsible for the development of utility-scale renewable energy-powered generation projects from the project identification stage through financial closing and start of construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project development strategies to identify and secure new renewable energy projects
  • Oversee the preparation of proposals and presentations to potential commercial off-takers
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for wind farms and solar parks
  • Negotiate and establish agreements with landowners, utilities, and other stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with government officials, regulators, and community leaders to support project development
  • Participate in policy outreach efforts to advocate for renewable energy industry issues
  • Monitor and participate in interconnection studies and negotiations
  • Manage the environmental study and permitting process
  • Develop project budgets and financial models
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal, Engineering, Construction, and Finance
  • Manage external contractors and vendors
  • Provide regular project updates to management
  • Stay up-to-date on energy market trends and competition
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Public Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the energy industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with renewable energy project development, particularly wind and solar
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products and ArcGIS
  • Strong leadership and management skills
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires frequent travel (50%) and occasional overtime. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
