Key Responsibilities

  1. Advocacy and Support: Ensure the rights and choices of individuals with disabilities are respected and advocated for as needed.
  2. Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, professionals, and community members to promote social inclusion and community integration.
  3. Personalized Support: Develop and implement personalized service plans to meet the unique needs and goals of individuals with disabilities.
  4. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress and service delivery.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and support.

Requirements

  • Education and Training: Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services or healthcare.
  • Certifications: Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  • Skills: Effective communication, behavior management, and moderate computer literacy.
  • Driver's License: Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Criminal Record Clearance: Clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.
  • TB Test: TB Test.
