Psychiatrist - Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Manitoba Health, specializing in Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT). As a key member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric services to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Treatment: Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing care to program participants.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in planning and coordination of comprehensive team services, including assessment of new referrals and facilitating intake of accepted participants.
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide clinical supervision, education, and training to other staff members, and contribute to the development of medication and psychiatric treatment policies and procedures.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain working relationships with other Shared Health Manitoba and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Mental Health services, and participate in evaluative measures and research studies.
- On-Call and Meetings: Participate in an on-call rota and attend FACT staff meetings and Community Psychiatry Program meetings.
Requirements:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Psychiatry.
- Certification: Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Experience: Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to individuals with severe and enduring mental illness, training and experience in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery models, clinical supervisory experience, and excellent communication and inter-professional skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is as per Doctors Manitoba agreement. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
