Psychiatrist - Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our team at the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba in Winnipeg, MB. As a member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will have overall clinical responsibility for monitoring client treatment and staff delivery of clinical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments, treatment, and management of program participants within scope of expertise or liaise with appropriate services when out of scope.
- Participate in planning and coordination of comprehensive team services for program participants.
- Provide psychiatric support to the HUB as needed on a consult basis.
- Clinical supervision, education, and training of other staff.
- Development, maintenance, and supervision of medication and psychiatric and medical treatment policies and procedures.
- Review, follow-up, and order blood work, in conjunction with Team Lead/Nursing, for assigned participants.
- Arrange for clients to be admitted to hospital when required and liaise with hospital staff while the ACT client is in hospital.
- Provide input and leadership, in conjunction with Team Lead, in all aspects regarding participant recovery and community living as required.
- Participate in development and maintenance of working relationships with other Shared Health Manitoba and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Mental Health services and other government agencies.
- Supervise residents and medical students who may be on rotation, elective, or community exposure, etc.
- Participate in a variety of evaluative measures and research studies.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Psychiatry. Training and experience in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery models are also required. Clinical experience with severe mental illness disorders, addictions, and intellectual disabilities is an asset.
