Job Summary

The Senior Accountant role at Encore Canada is a critical position that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including auditing commission calculations, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete journal entries for all areas assigned, as required, within the close calendar deadlines.
  • Maintain schedules and post accruals for month end reporting, including revenue-based venue incentives.
  • Analyze results for all areas assigned to identify issues and contribute to a timely and appropriate resolution.
  • Research and analyze location income statement and general ledger accounts per requests from hotel directors and management.
  • Correct problems such as miscoding or improperly booked entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations for a portion of the balance sheet as assigned.
  • Support our customer base with reconciliation of commission for venues and third-party contracts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BA in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in an accounting department.
  • Working knowledge of all accounting functions and related principles (including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger).
  • Expert level working knowledge of Excel.
  • High level of detail and accuracy when responding to requests as well as financial reporting.
  • Completion or current enrollment in CPA program an asset.
