This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the strategy and legislative teams, working closely with the City Manager and Corporate Leadership Team. You will be responsible for building external relationships, developing strategic plans, and providing expert advice on legislative and executive services.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of local government operations, legislation, and policy. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in managing functions similar to those encompassed in this Service Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of strategic plans and policies that align with the City's vision and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.
  • Provide expert advice on legislative and executive services, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role, preferably in local government or a related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, Public Administration, or Political Science, with a graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of local government operations, legislation, and policy.
