Job Title: Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient's vital signs, medication, and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Coronary Care Level 1 (required), Level 2 (preferred).
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • ACLS Certification or to be completed within 3 months.
  • Experience with arterial lines and central lines maintenance.
  • Experience in a critical care setting (preferred).
  • Completion of Critical Care Certificate (preferred) or commitment to enrolment and completion within 6 months.
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize care and adapt to unexpected change in patient acuity.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision-making skills.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.
