Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
  • Perform duties expected of a Registered Nurse within the ICU Department, including critical care and specialized nursing duties.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes in their status.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Coronary Care Level 1 (required), Level 2 (preferred).
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • ACLS Certification or to be completed within 3 months.
  • Experience with arterial lines and central lines maintenance.
  • Experience in a critical care setting (preferred).
  • Completion of Critical Care Certificate (preferred) or commitment to enrolment and completion within 6 months.
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize care and adapt to unexpected change in patient acuity.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.
