About Harris Geospatial Solutions

We develop and manufacture advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, national security, search & rescue, and airborne law enforcement agencies.

The role we are hiring for is a key part of our team's success on the shop floor, focusing on quality and reliability within the cell, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact to the Manufacturing team for assistance in troubleshooting and resolving electro-mechanical and electro-optical manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support manufacturing changes, including test procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing execution system (MES) authoring.
  • Participate in daily cell MRB meetings, including supporting closure of NCRs and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Maintain manufacturing processes and procedures for WESCAM products, including creation of PFMEA, SPC, first pass approval (FPA), control plans, tooling, and test procedures.

Required Capabilities:

  • Manufacturing engineering experience in a high-tech assembly environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of systems, electro-mechanical, electro-optical, manufacturing, and process engineering.
  • Technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • A well-rounded optical background with manufacturing engineering experience in a high-tech environment.
  • A university degree or 3-year college diploma in engineering physics, physics, aerospace, mechatronics, or optics coupled with relevant work experience in optics or manufacturing engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
