Calgary, Alberta, Canada Executrade Full time

Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Executrade is in search of a dynamic finance executive who is eager to join a seasoned and collaborative leadership team in the capacity of Vice President of Finance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to facilitating growth while remaining aligned with the organization's social objectives.

The new VP of Finance will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and should ideally be open to relocation.

THE ORGANIZATION

Executrade is a technology-driven marketplace that connects skilled remote professionals from historically marginalized communities with busy entrepreneurs and organizations seeking to enhance their productivity. They take pride in their unique approach: a robust social mission aimed at creating earning opportunities for underrepresented individuals, coupled with a commitment to effectively matching virtual assistants with clients.

Mission

Their mission is to empower and link virtual assistants with businesses that require fractional, remote support. These partnerships are mutually beneficial, allowing virtual assistants to secure meaningful, flexible income without navigating the often biased traditional hiring processes. Simultaneously, businesses receive the necessary support while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contribute to shaping the organization's future direction by providing insights on business planning, financial and tax strategies, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Develop performance metrics that align with the company's strategic goals.
  3. Cultivate strong relationships with all members of the executive team.
  4. Oversee accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury functions.
  5. Manage the financial operations of future subsidiary companies and international ventures.
  6. Supervise any third-party service providers engaged in accounting or finance functions.
  7. Ensure the integrity of the company's transaction processing systems.
  8. Lead acquisition due diligence and negotiations.
  9. Identify and mitigate key components of the company's risk profile.
  10. Monitor ongoing legal matters affecting the company and the industry.
  11. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
  12. Report financial outcomes and risk considerations to the board of directors.
  13. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
  14. Oversee cash balances and forecasts.
  15. Facilitate debt and equity financing arrangements.
  16. Manage investment of funds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, economics, or a related analytical field.
  2. Master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent professional experience.
  3. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant is advantageous.
  4. Prior experience as a CFO in a growth-stage technology (or SaaS) company or relevant transferable experience.
  5. Experience advising key executives or serving as a senior executive in an early-stage company.
  6. Proven track record in raising investor capital and supporting executive negotiations and due diligence during funding rounds.
  7. Familiarity with board governance and principles.
  8. Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a larger, established organization.
  9. Advanced proficiency in Excel, with over 10 years of practical experience in developing and maintaining financial models.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

BENEFITS

  1. Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses.
  2. Employee stock option program.
  3. Comprehensive health, dental, and insurance benefits.
  4. Additional perks such as meals and flexible working hours.
  5. Hybrid work model allowing for significant remote collaboration.
  6. A supportive and inclusive work environment.
  7. A vibrant office culture with regular team-building activities.
  8. The opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission.

Executrade is committed to their social mission, which drives them to provide exceptional experiences for clients and create opportunities for their virtual assistants.

The organization encourages applications from individuals who identify as Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, women, and/or 2SLGBTQIA+.
