Education and Certification:

  • Obtain a General certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized post-secondary institute.
  • Get certified through the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
  • Register with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required.

Work Experience:

  • Have a minimum of one (1) year of recent laboratory experience in a related discipline(s), as required by assigned area, preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop skills and knowledge in required areas of the laboratory.
  • Experience with current instrumentation/automation in respective areas is an asset.
  • Have a general knowledge of all areas of the laboratory, preferred.
  • Have a general knowledge of the theory and practices of applicable laboratory procedures and equipment, required.
  • Meditech and LIS knowledge and experience are an asset.

Professional Affiliations:

  • Be currently registered with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required.
  • Participate in professional committees and networks, recommended.

Unless otherwise stated, applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.
