We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at Symposium Café Restaurant and Lounge. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our staff are well-trained and motivated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor revenues and labour costs to determine optimal staffing levels
  • Supervise staff to ensure they are meeting performance expectations
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including menu planning and inventory management
  • Set staff work schedules and ensure adequate coverage
  • Train staff on new procedures and policies
  • Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including food and supplies
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Provide customer service and resolve issues in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant management role
  • Proven track record of success in managing staff and operations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office, and point of sale systems
  • Criminal record check
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
