Chief Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Prepare and review financial statements, working closely with clients to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Create and update review/compilation plans for clients, leveraging expertise in accounting software and processes.
- Participate in fieldwork for reviews, providing exceptional service and ensuring seamless client experiences.
- Prepare year-end financial statements, working papers for audits, reviews, and compilations, and roll forward and set up accounting files from the previous year.
- Prepare corporate/personal tax returns, including Trust and Not-for-Profit, utilizing advanced Excel skills and knowledge of tax regulations.
- Meet with clients to discuss year-end results or arising issues, providing clear and concise explanations of complex financial concepts.
- Answer client queries and supervise team members when needed, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Review and oversee e-filing of personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Train clients on accounting software and processes, empowering them to make informed decisions about their finances.
- Organize tax data, handle payroll, and manage government remittances, streamlining operations and reducing administrative burdens.
- Provide bookkeeping services and prepare transmittal documentation, maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Required Skills and Qualifications- CPA Enrolled or designated is preferred
- 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, specifically preparing financial statements and preparing corporate tax returns
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Public accounting experience is highly favored
- CaseWare Desktop, CaseWare Cloud, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, iFirm, T-Value would be a strong asset
- Experience with Tax Prep is favorable
