Job Overview

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to develop and implement a strategic asset management program for its diverse infrastructure. Located in the heart of British Columbia, this role offers a unique blend of urban and rural environments, with a focus on sustainable development and community growth.

This position will play a critical role in ensuring the district's assets are well-maintained, efficiently managed, and aligned with its corporate objectives. As a key member of the operations team, you will work closely with various departments to implement an organization-wide asset management system, leveraging industry best practices and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an asset management strategy that aligns with the district's corporate goals and objectives;
  • Collaborate with department managers to establish and maintain accurate records of assets, including condition assessments and life-cycle costing;
  • Establish and lead a cross-functional asset management working group to ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments;
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of organization-wide asset management software solution to support data-driven decision making;
  • Implement a fleet management system to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce costs;
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure asset management activities are integrated with budget planning and reporting systems;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to asset management, such as Engineering, Business, Finance, or Management Certificate;
  • Five (5) years of experience in asset management, including implementing an asset management program;
  • A suitable combination of education and experience relevant to the position may also be considered;
  • A current and valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and satisfactory driving record;

Salary Range: $100,399 - $135,265 annually, plus an extensive extended health and benefits package and pension plan.
