Job Summary

Prairie South School Division No. 210 is seeking a skilled and reliable Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our school division buildings and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of school division buildings and their surrounding grounds
  • Assist the Head Facility Operator in maintaining the facilities
  • Perform heavy work, including lifting and moving objects, and working at heights
  • Operate cleaning equipment and vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements
Requirements
  • Grade 10 diploma from a recognized educational institution or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Valid Fireman's certificate if required by legislation
  • Six (6) months experience in a cleaning/caretaking position
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Good physical condition with the ability to perform heavy work
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is also required.

Compensation

The successful candidate will be compensated in accordance with the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
