The Municipality of North Cowichan is seeking a skilled Truck Driver/Loader Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating our municipal trucks, including loading and hauling various materials, towing a commercial trailer, spreading gravel and asphalt, and operating tanker/distributor or sweeper trucks.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate municipal trucks, including loading and hauling various materials, towing a commercial trailer, spreading gravel and asphalt, and operating tanker/distributor or sweeper trucks.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain written records, and follow prescribed routes.
- Ability to efficiently operate both truck and commercial trailer combinations of over 38,000 KG GVW.
- Ability to spread gravel and asphalt.
- Ability to operate loaders.
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 1 B.C. Driver's License with air endorsement; a satisfactory current driver's abstract will be required.
- One (1) year experience operating commercial trucks at a Class 3 with air endorsement level or higher.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a comprehensive evaluation of skills, qualifications, and abilities.
