Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Quality Inn Bracebridge. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of physical fitness and attention to detail.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems. They will also be required to operate industrial vacuum cleaners, move heavy furniture and equipment, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facility, including the hotel rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Perform minor repairs to appliances, fixtures, and equipment, and contact contractors for major repairs.
  • Conduct regular safety and security checks, including fire extinguisher inspections and emergency lighting tests.
  • Supervise other workers and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A physically demanding job that requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Certification in a trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as health, dental, and vision coverage, and paid time off.
