About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and self-directed Preventive Maintenance Technologist to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, design, fabrication, qualification, and repair of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory policies are met in all work activities.
  • Provide backup support for reviewing preventative maintenance records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing equipment to increase reliability and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance standards and methods for equipment.
  • Analyze and present information on new and existing equipment.
  • Lead equipment breakdowns and new installations.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in investigating irregularities related to manufacturing equipment systems.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Review documentation to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records.
  • Interface with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams for equipment changes or new installations.
  • Order equipment spare parts and maintain inventory levels.
  • Provide backup support to the Maintenance Department as needed.
  • Support calibration activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of related experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Technical degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Willingness to develop or obtain 5th Class Power Engineer certification.

Working Conditions:

  • On-site position at our Burnaby, British Columbia facility.
  • Weekday shifts and occasional weekend shifts as needed.
  • Kneeling, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special garments and safety equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Handling and usage of chemicals.
  • Shift times vary from morning to midnight.
  • Must carry a valid driver's license and vehicle.
