Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Lead to join our team at Venture Computers of Canada Inc. in $115,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned project manager to lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. As the main point of contact for clients, you will be responsible for project updates, scope adjustments, and overall satisfaction.

You will work closely with internal and external technical specialists, vendors, purchasers, and other cross-functional departments to coordinate IT projects and efforts. Your responsibilities will include defining project deliverables, RAID log, RACI Chart, budget reports, project milestones, and timelines.

You will present and report on project status with external and internal stakeholders, maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status, and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communications plan.

You will manage project issues and risks through the team, escalating them to the senior management team and updating the issues logs and risk registers for the overall project. Establishing and fostering relationships with key clients and stakeholders is also essential to this role.

You will analyze the project workload of each employee to ensure proper resource utilization, predict resources needed to reach objectives, and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner. Collaborating with vendors, consultants, and contractors in the execution of projects, including contract management and working with the procurement office, is also required.

You will participate in pre-sales activities, including RFP creation, SOW creation, and proposal presentations, to secure and define new projects. Measuring project performance to identify areas for improvement and performing other tasks based on management requirements and instructions are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Proven ability to foster relationships with clients or key decision makers
  • Managed IT Services experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in engaging with potential clients through pre-sales activities and the RFP process
  • Excellent communication, oral presentation, and written skills
  • Experience working with a CRM tool (ie. Salesforce, Connect Wise) is an asset
