Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Education Specialist to join our team at the Commission scolaire Central Québec / Central Québec School Board. As an Elementary Education Specialist, you will be responsible for creating engaging and enriching educational experiences for students aged 6 to 11.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course Development and Delivery
    • Design and deliver courses and educational activities tailored to individual student needs.
    • Develop and implement effective teaching methods that respect students' diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Learning Environment
    • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
    • Encourage student participation and motivation through creative and interactive teaching approaches.
  • Student Progress and Support
    • Monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
    • Provide targeted academic support and mentoring to students, as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with school staff to provide personalized support to students and enhance the educational experience.
    • Communicate student progress and challenges to parents and school administrators, as required.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and pedagogical research.
    • Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives and programs that promote student learning and well-being.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Valid teaching permit issued by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur (MEQ).
    • Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as a good knowledge of French.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Demonstrated passion for teaching and commitment to student learning and well-being.
    • Ability to adapt to the specific needs of each student and create effective teaching methods that respect students' diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents.
