About the Role

We are seeking a Claims Adjuster II to join our growing team at Intact Financial Corporation

As a Claims Adjuster II, you will be at the heart of what we do best: helping people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times. You will work with a passionate and diverse team of experts in claims who help clients recover from losses.

Your big heart and impressive skills will be a valuable asset to our team, and we will offer you exciting opportunities to investigate insurance claims and manage them for our personal and commercial insurance activities. Plus, we have over 75 different types of roles within our claims team, which means plenty of opportunities for you to advance your career in a way that matters to you.

Each unique situation and insurance claim will shine a light on your ability to manage details. You will review individual files, meet with the insured and witnesses, keep clear and organized records, and compare contracts to make liability and settlement evaluations.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Open new claims over the phone with clients, then ensure immediate handling of the situation.
  • Analyze the information collected, determine the receivability, and investigate the circumstances of a claim to determine its causes and review damage assessments.
  • Collect the facts from insureds and/or witnesses by questioning them about events.
  • Use tools effectively.
  • Determine subrogation potential in files.
  • Have good reserve management.
  • Manage your office and priorities efficiently.
  • Verify the details of the insured's policy to determine coverage.
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams, including evaluation, underwriting, and subrogation.
  • Ensure effective cost management.

What You'll Bring

  • Hold a 5A and/or 5B claims expert certification.
  • Have at least 1 to 2 years of experience as a claims expert.
  • Be well-versed in insurance products.
  • Have solid time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a good understanding of the claims process.
  • Maintain a high level of performance and productivity.
  • Bilingual (French and English)

What We Offer

Working here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day. Here's some of what you can expect as a permanent member of our team:

  • A financial rewards program that recognizes your success.
  • An industry-leading Employee Share Purchase Plan; we match 50% of net shares purchased.
  • An extensive flex pension and benefits package, with access to virtual healthcare.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • The possibility to purchase up to 5 extra days off per year.
  • An annual wellness account that promotes an active and healthy lifestyle.
  • Access to tools and resources to support physical and mental health, embracing change, and connecting with colleagues.
  • A dynamic workplace learning ecosystem complete with learning journeys, interactive online content, and inspiring programs.
  • Inclusive employee-led networks to educate, inspire, amplify voices, build relationships, and provide development opportunities.
  • Inspiring leaders and colleagues who will lift you up and help you grow.
  • A Community Impact program, because what you care about is a part of what makes you different. And how you contribute to your community should be just as unique.
