Hydro Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Energy Conservation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) team, you will play a critical role in helping our customers reduce their energy consumption and manage their electricity costs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve CDM goals and objectives.
- Engage with customers to understand their energy efficiency needs and provide expertise on electricity use.
- Conduct site assessments and identify potential energy-saving opportunities.
- Recommend and implement energy-saving projects, including the preparation of business cases to justify capital expenditures.
- Track and monitor energy savings, preparing reports and projections as requested.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver CDM programs and services.
- Leverage data and metrics to identify and target potential customers for CDM engagement.
- Develop and cultivate industry relationships to support CDM initiatives.
- Ensure CDM program compliance and Hydro Ottawa regulatory obligations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electricity utilization, energy management, and building systems.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, electrical metering, and load profiling.
- Experience in site investigations, report writing, and commissioning of building systems.
- Advanced Energy Training considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Google suite of products.
- English essential, both oral and written; Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
